Meet the Team
Meet our wonderful task force members!
Krystal Ruvalcaba
PIE is a wonderful program and I feel honored to co-chair the program this year! I am excited about the new changes we have implemented, one of the biggest being onboarding our very first parent task force, these parents are amazing and we are proud of all the hard work they are doing. I look forward to continuing to grow as a leader in this new role, connecting with all our beautiful families, and supporting growth in our comunidad!!
Meca Delgado
My name is Meca Delgado and I work for Boulder County Healthy Youth Alliance. I am one of the originators of the PIE program that started in the fall of 2008. PIE is a program that was grown through collaboration, cultural respect, and equity. I am passionate about my work with PIE because it provides access to resources, information, education, and connections for SVVSD families. PIE is a Spanish-language-first program provided to parents, caregivers, and families in the language of their home and heart. This work helps me feel grounded in my cultural roots and my ancestors.
Mckenzie LeTendre
My name is McKenzie LeTendre and I work for Boulder County Healthy Youth Alliance (HYA), where I have been for the past 4.5 years. The mission of the HYA is to ensure that all youth, parents, caregivers, and community members have the knowledge and skills to support youth in healthy, positive choices and behaviors, something I am very passionate about. I have been supporting the PIE program in a variety of ways since I started with HYA, and mostly offer ‘behind the scenes’ support. I love the sense of community and connection that the PIE program offers, and am lucky to be a part of such an incredible group of people.
Cecy Vazquez
Cecy was born and raised in Longmont. When not serving with HYA, she is also pursuing her Associate's degree in Business at Front Range Community College. She has a passion for marketing and supporting her local community for success! She is also excited to start working with PIE to assist in technology and marketing!
Lilian Bucio
Lilian Bucio has over 30 years of experience in customer service and 18 years of library experience. She has created bilingual programs for children, encouraging them to learn Spanish and preserve their native language. Currently, she works as the Bilingual Outreach Coordinator Librarian at the Longmont Public Library, focusing on building the community through bilingual library outreach services and promoting resources.
Jorge Maldonado
What I liked most about PIE is that when we arrived we received a great source of information that covers all our needs as a family and as individuals. The programs that they have to help the whole community. And we are offered the opportunity to be a part of helping other families
Rocio Ramirez
My name is Rocio Ramirez and what I like about PIE is that it is a very big and beautiful community that lets you know that you are not alone in difficult situations and that there is a community that can help you in any situation, as parents of students we need a lot of help and PIE is the answer to our questions and needs.
Ere Juarez
My name is Ere Juarez and I work for El Centro Amistad as an Emotional Wellness Companion and Family Specialist. I am Mexican and have lived in Longmont for 27 years. I have been involved in PIE as a participant and team member since 2008. As a community leader and representative of my community/culture. I like to participate and invite parents to have learning experiences, become informed and have tools to advocate for their children/students. PIE is the community, and the community is all of us.

Angelica Fierro
I've worked as a Family Mentor at Wild Plum since 2020, and I love it! One of the best parts of my job is getting to know the families in our community and being a supportive part of their journey as parents. It's fulfilling to help parents realize how important they are as their children's first teachers. Before working at WPC, I worked for Boulder County in Housing and Human Services for almost 10 years. This is my first year on the PIE task force, and I'm thrilled to be part of such an incredible group of people.
